Homea
Welcome to the official website of Hatherleigh Cricket Club. The club is one of the oldest in Devon and celebrated its centenary in 1988. The club moved to its present ground overlooked by the market town of Hatherleigh, close to the River Lew, in the early 1950s. The present clubhouse was completed in 1986.

Players range approximately from 7-70yrs, playing from colts to veterans teams and the club takes particular pride in consistently producing youngsters capable of playing cricket to a high standard. Both weekend league cricket and midweek touring friendlies are played from April to September. A ladies section was formed last year and played several friendlies.

We consider that both the cricketing and social sides are important to the club. New members and new visiting touring teams are always welcome. Our teas are renowned and the bar encourages a convivial atmosphere

The club entered league cricket in 1977. Joining the Devon League in 1985, the club gained promotion every year for five years, culminating in Premier league status. Those heady days are past and we enter the 2004 season with the 1st X1 in the D West division and the 2ndX1 in the A division. We will be fielding strong competitive sides made of young cricketers who have progressed from our junior sides supported by more experienced and senior players. It is club policy not to hire overseas professionals and to keep team places free for our younger members.
